Two days of stellar performance from rookies Mike Ballo, Jr. and Dan Mollicone brought the St. John's men's golf team to a second-place finish in the William and Mary Invitational in Williamsburg, Va. The team finished just three strokes back from Campbell University with an overall score of 578.

After two days of competition, Mollicone tied for third place in the individual scores with an even par of 142. Ballo Jr., who led the Red Storm in scoring in the first round with a one-under par 70, managed a 74 in the second. He tied for sixth place individually with a two-over par 144.

Senior co-captain George Zolotas narrowly missed the top 10 despite improving on his first day performance and shooting an even par in the second round, finishing in 11th place with a 145. His fellow co-captain Keegan Bradley ended the tournament with an overall score of 151, after a less-successful second day on the links. Sophomore Kevin Velardo contributed with a combined 153 over the two rounds.
