The St. John's men's lacrosse team walked off DaSilva Field on Saturday after a 13-10 win against Hobart. In addition to being the final home game of the season, the game was also Senior Day, a means by which to honor departing seniors.

The win brings the Red Storm to 5- 7 on the season and 2-4 in their conference. It was also their fourth straight win at home, and marked the first time the team has defeated Hobart since the Johnnies revival in 2005.

Before the game, the team acknowledged the accomplishments of graduating players Anthony Bozymowski, George Kaleh, Rick Ruggles, and T.J. O'Shea, as well as the off the field contributions of support- staff members Emily Lozinak, Julianne Mahoney, and Kara Tlcozkowski.

The action began as James Dussich scored for the Statesman five minutes into the first period off a Red Storm penalty.

Justin O'Donnell quickly tied the score for St. Johns off an assist from Tom Maines, who just one minute later would score an unassisted goal to give the Red Storm the lead. After Hobart put up two unanswered goals, Tom Michaelsen tied the game 3-3 with his 17th goal of the season. In the second period, Hobart took the lead less than two minutes in, but the Michaelsen brothers answered immediately as Trevor scored off an assist from his twin to bring the game back to four goals apiece. St. John's goalkeeper Dan Goldberg was substituted after the Statesmen retook the lead off a goal by Chris David. The second period was filled with action, accounting for 11 of the total 23 goals scored in the game as the Red Storm and Statesmen vied for the lead. The quarter ended with Jamie Kirk scoring with under a minute remaining in the half to put Hobart up 9-8.

"I was pleased that we found a way to win against a high-scoring team like
Hobart," head coach Jason Miller told RedStormSports.com. "Going into the second half, I remarked to assistant coach Dan Paccione that Hobart is not a team we want to go into a shootout against, especially after last week's high scoring game against UMass. But we did a good job tightening our defense and continued to score goals."
