Pack of Pop: An Entertainment Blog

First off, Just Press Play II totally rocked and anyone who missed it because Ludacris wasn't there missed out on a great time. Ciara went on first and did a full set before Deep performed briefly and then Boys Like Girls and HelloGoodbye rocked the house. It was awesome…there was even crowd surfing.
But, that's not the point of this blog.
The time has come bloggers, the end of the year and the end of pack of pop…at least for the Torch. You can still catch pack of pop at www.myspace.com/packofpop, so don't worry.
So, has anyone noticed how angry the chick rockers are these days? I mean, Alanis Morissette was pissed off and Fiona Apple was upset but the girls today I don't even know. Kelly Clarkson's Breakway was inspirational on one hand and really angry on the other. "Since U Been Gone" is the ultimate girl power song but her new song "Never Again" is extremely makes "Since U Been Gone" look like a lullaby.
After extensive research - I spent about a half hour scouring the internet for information about this song - I came to two conclusions. First, I know the song isn't about Graham Colton, Clarkson's ex from 2006, but I also found out that she dated Ryan Key from the band Yellowcard. I thought maybe the song was about him but according to various internet sources who cited Clarkson claiming she wrote the song two years ago about an ex before "American Idol". Who knows? All I do know is that she's pissed. The song isn't available on iTunes so if you want to check it out tune into your radios or jump on myspace - and add my blog as a friend while you're there - and hit Clarkson's page.
I really can't even begin to describe the anger in this song, lyrically and musically. It's a rock song for sure and Clarkson's raspy vocals only further the anger the music emits. Check out the lyrics at the end of the blog.
Kelly Clarkson isn't the only angry chick however. Avril Lavigne has been pissed from the get go. Her new single, "Girlfriend" comes off as playfully angry but the lyrics prove otherwise. Lavigne just settled down with the punk rock lead singer of Sum 41, but apparently she is upset with someone's girlfriend. Maybe angry isn't the right word for this song. More like pissed off. Lavigne goes as far as to say, She's so stupid / What the hell were you thinking?! after proclaiming that she doesn't like his girlfriend and he should get a new one.

There is a lot of anger around generally.
