A University library is a place where students can go for print resources.

However, with St. Augustine Hall currently undergoing renovations to the basement, third, and fourth floors, in addition to its removal of some books during the Spring semester, it may be a little challenging for students to access adequate materials.

SJU receives record amount of applicants

St. John's accepted over 18,000 new freshmen students for this upcoming semester after receiving more than 40,000 applications for the 2008-2009 school year.

The Office of Admissions reports the number is an increase over the initial 30,000 students they calculated applied to St.

is changing.

Nearly $150 million are being spent on renovations and newly constructed projects for the campus, said Brij Anand, vice president for Construction and Facilities.
Anand said that "these projects are focused to improve facilities for students learning experience on campus.

Students here at St. John's have been complaining about the lack of campus life for the past few years. Residents say that the campus dies each weekend, forcing them to go elsewhere to have some fun on days off.

Sure, it gets quiet here on weekends, and perhaps more could be done by the University to foster life here on campus.
