With spring gradually approaching, the yearning to shed those few extra pounds gained over winter break can become exceptionally overwhelming. Though exercise and a healthy diet are essential to keeping fit, you do not have to deny yourself everything in order to reach the goal you may have planned for yourself.
Splurging once in a while can be both gratifying and rejuvenating, leaving you with a happy stomach and revived enthusiasm to continue on your path to a healthier weight. There are also plenty of recipes that are both extremely healthy and delicious, so you don’t have to resort to a bland and repetitive meal plan. On the contrary, you can have a rich and delectable meal every day while still remaining true to your goal.
This recipe will surely have your taste buds dancing and keep your weight in place, and is an old time favorite of mine-and it can also be used as a sensual Valentine’s Day dessert for you and your honey!
What You’ll Need:
16 ounces dark chocolate chips or milk chocolate chips
1 pound strawberries, washed with stems attached
What to do:
Take a medium sized tray and line it with wax paper in order to easily remove the chocolate covered strawberries at the end of the process. Fill one pot with water half-way while taking a second pot and putting all the chocolate chips into it. Put the pot filled with water on the stove while holding the second one over it and stirring the whole time. You can also use a double boiler for this step.
Once the chocolate has melted and is smooth, put the pot aside. Take each strawberry by its stem (if it does not have a stem insert a toothpick into the top of it) and slowly dip the lower half into the chocolate. Put the chocolate covered strawberries on the tray. Do this until all the strawberries are covered in chocolate. Refrigerate for two to three hours and then simply enjoy the lusciousness!
