Justin Bieber Roast: Blown Out Of Proportion

On the evening of Monday, March 30, almost all eyes were set to the screen as everyone’s attention was focused on “The Roast of Justin Bieber,”

Even before the show aired on television, there were a number of speculations on how harsh and brutal the roast of Justin Bieber would be. However, the entire bubble of “just for fun” burst when viewers gave their opinions on the show, stating that Snoop Dogg’s smoking on air and jokes were not appropriate.

One such joke was made by Martha Stewart, where she gave Bieber tips on surviving in prison, based off of her own experiences.

Chris D’Elia, Ludacris, Martha Stewart, Hannibal Buress, Shaquille O’Neal, Pete Davidson and Kevin Hart joined in with Snoop Dogg and Natasha Leggero in giving their best shot at roasting Justin Bieber by digging on his past relationships, his trouble with the law and even his pet monkey.

I am personally not a fan of Justin Bieber’s work in and out of the industry, as far as the roast is to be considered, I feel that it could be done for anyone.

For a fact, everyone has at one point said or done something that they are not proud of; to think that Justin Bieber was targeted due to a hostile fan base would be wrong.

It was Justin Bieber’s track record that led him to be the most vulnerable target of these highly explicit jokes, each formed by some of the most humorous individuals in the country. Some of the jokes were sidelined due to some very serious issues such as those concerning abandonment and abortion.

Pete Davidson’s statement, “I lost my dad on 9/11 and I’ve always regretted growing up without a dad. Until I met your dad, Justin,” was one of the many jokes that managed to raise quite a few eyebrows.

It is important to understand that the roast was meant for pure entertainment and none of the things that were said were personal. Additionally, Justin Bieber was not the only one roasted that night; the entire panel would make jokes about each other on occasion as a part of their skit.

All the members of the panel were familiar with Justin Bieber and have seen his career grow out of almost nothing, with some personally assisting Bieber in his journey to fame.

At the end of the show Justin Bieber himself didn’t seem amused and went on to speak about how none of his actions were his own fault and were a result of the overwhelming money, fame and responsibility that came to him.

He apologized to his fans for any of his disappointing actions, promised to mature, and make his fans proud.
