St. John’s University students received an email detailing the upcoming fifth annual Stormin’ Loud.
The Stormin’ Loud Planning Committee, The Resident Students Association, the Student Programming Board and Haraya: The Pan African Students’ Coalition collaborated with Student Government Inc. for the end-of-the-year festival on Friday, May 1.
The end-of-semester celebration will feature art vendors, food trucks, carnival rides, food trucks and live performances.
Registration and ticket sales opened on April 9 at 10 a.m. and will close on April 24. The first 1,000 ticket getters are automatically placed in a raffle for a chance to win a Stormin’ Loud merch pack.
There are varying prices for ticket packages. General admission is free for all St. John’s students and comes with food vouchers and giveaway opportunities. The Spark Package is available for $25 and comes with a T-shirt and a tote bag. The Heat Package also includes a disposable camera and a Fast Pass to use for food and rides for $50. The Elite Package features a hoodie and a raffle entry to meet the Stormin’ Loud performing artist, in addition to everything else for the price of $75.
The headline performer has yet to be announced. In the past, the University has seen Swae Lee and Toosii take the Stormin’ Loud stage.
“I’m hoping it’s a big artist that is popular right now. Previous artists have been good, but I kind of want somebody who’s more prevalent,” Junior St. John’s student Tadhg Sullivan said. “I’ve heard we’ve gotten J. Cole in the past, so I want somebody on that level of fame and notoriety,” He continued.
Alumni, accepted students and registered students are all permitted to enjoy the spring festivities.
