Students have been anticipating the Stormin’ Loud headliners, and the reveal was finally made. Ian will be headlining this year’s Stormin’ Loud festival alongside special guest BKTHERULA according to an Instagram post made on April 23 by St. John’s University Campus Activities, Student Programming Board, St. John’s Now and Student Government inc.
Ian is a Dallas-based rapper with over 3,000,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. He rose to prominence on social media in 2024, and is most well-known for his tracks “Magic Johnson,” “3.5” and “Hate Me.” He is considered a viral TikTok artist.
BKTHERULA will be taking the stage with Ian. She is also a hip hop artist from Atlanta, and her most streamed songs on Spotify include “STILL IN THE PAINT” — a collaboration with Denzel Curry and LAZER DIM 700 — “Tweakin’ Together” and “IDK WHAT TO TELL YOU.”
The winners of Battle of the Orgs will also take the stage. This year’s victorious student groups are Live Dance Crew, Sensación Latin Dance Team and Step Ya Game Up.
The event will also feature performances by local artists and individual student performers who won Battle of the Voices.
General admission tickets are free to St. John’s students and they can be acquired up until the day prior to the event.
They can also be upgraded to Purple, Black or Gold status in order to receive merchandise, guaranteed food vouchers and other benefits. Upgraded tickets and guest packages can be purchased until April 24.
Stormin’ Loud will take place on the Great Lawn on May 1. For more information, click here.
