Shepard finishes in top 50 in Oregon

Sophomore Trevor Shepard competed in the Junior Men’s Epee Division at Portland, Oregon at the Junior Olympics and was the only competitor for the Red Storm. Shepard placed 49th out of 256 fencers and was seeded No. 50 overall coming into pool play.

Shepard posted a 4-2 record and was tied for second in his pool. Shepard nearly beat the overall No. 1 seed Nicolas Wilson losing 15-14.

Shepard was able to capture victories against No. 63 Wesley Johnson 15- 8 and made it to the round of 64.

The Johnnies next fencing competition will be Feb. 22nd in Philadelphia, Pa.
