Big East Receives A Tropical Punch

The honors keep coming for freshman setter Robyn Kuraski of the women’s volleyball team.

While helping the volleyball team to their best ever record at 25-8 and 7-4 in the Big East, the Hawaiian native led all rookies in conference games with 13.4 assists per conference game.

Her stellar play was rewarded with the honor of being named Big East Rookie of the Year. Her play fueld the Red Storm attack, which finished fifth in hitting percentage (.2290) and assists (13.35).

Kuraski is no stranger to honors, being named Big East Rookie of the Week Four Times.She was also named to the Big East All-Rookie team.

In addition to Kurasaki, senior Olga Roudovski was an All-Big East First Team selection. Roudovski finished the season with 554 kills, setting the single season mark for the Big East conference. In total she tallied 1,541 kills in her career, the most in St. John’s history.
