Summer Shorts: What you’ve missed this summer

Summer Beefs

Apparently, beef wasn’t only served at cookouts this summer. There were three major ‘beefs’ that transpired this summer and all three happened to have included this summer’s power couple, Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill.

“Trigga fingers turn to Twitter fingers”

If you followed the Drake vs. Meek Mill beef, you know how much of a mess it was. On the night of July 21, Philly breed rapper, Meek Mill, 28, decided to take to Twitter about his frustration with singing rapper Drake, 28, not promoting his album, “Dreams Worth More Than Money,” on which he featured.

“Stop comparing Drake to me too… He don’t write his own raps,” tweeted the “All Eyes On You” rapper. “He ain’t even write that verse on my album and if I woulda knew I woulda took it off my album….. I don’t trick my fans! Lol.”

Then, things escalated pretty quickly. The alleged ghostwriter’s name started to surface (which is Quentin Miller if you haven’t heard). Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex played an alleged reference track to Drake’s “10 Bands” by Miller. Drake released two diss tracks, “Charged Up” and “Back to Back.” Funk Flex promised a diss track from Meek Mill, but didn’t deliver. Meek didn’t respond until over a week later with “Wanna Know” (which was a bust), and the best memes in history were made after Meek’s fail of a diss track.

After all of the stressful ups and downs of this rap beef, the craziness died down,.Drake is still the ‘6 god’ and Meek Mill finally went on tour, which was his girl, Nicki Minaj’s tour.

“Miley, What’s Good?”

Before Kanye West announced his decision to run for President in 2020 during the VMAs, everyone was holding their breath when it came to the Nicki Minaj vs. Taylor Swift twitter beef about racism in the entertainment business. Shockingly, as the “Anaconda” rapper opened the awards show, Minaj finished off her set with Swift singing “Bad Blood” and a hug.

When Minaj, 32, won the award for Best Hip Hop Video for “Anaconda,” she took the time out to call out VMA host, Miley Cyrus, for her recent interview talking about the Nicki vs. T. Swift beef with the New York Times after thanking her pastor.

“Back to this b—h who had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what’s good?”

“We all do interviews,” Miley responded out of shock. “We all know how they manipulate s–t. Congratuf–kinglations, Nicki.”

After the outburst, “Miley, what’s good” merch has been made, Miley’s Instagram has been flooded with comments of the slogan and we are still waiting on Miley’s answer to the question heard around the world.

Bill Cosby admits it

Bill Cosby admitted to acquiring prescriptions for drugs to give to women that he wanted to have sex with in court documents that surfaced in early July.

On July 6, a Pennsylvania judge ruled that the 16 documents, pertaining to the case Cosby, 77, found himself back in 2005 with a former Temple University employee, could be unsealed.

According to E! News, the documents detailed Cosby’s statement, including when he was asked by the woman’s attorney, “When you got the Quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these Quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?”

Cosby responded, “Yes.”

In the documents, Cosby also recalled an encounter in the 1970s in Las Vegas with a woman whom he said “meets me back stage. I give her Quaaludes. We then have sex,” he’s quoted saying.

OMG!

Kylie and Tyga broadcast their relationship

Relationship rumors about reality TV star Kylie Jenner, 18, and rapper Tyga, 25, have now been confirmed in Tyga’s new music video “Stimulated.”

The couple has been seen in public settings together for some time now, but hasn’t confirmed their relationship status to the world, until now.

On August 31, Tyga released his “Stimulated” video starring long-time rumored girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, which was filled with PDA and an ode to their romance.

“I’m stimulated / I’m at the bank, I’m penetratin’ / I’m puttin’ in, I’m penetratin’ / I’m gettin’ big, she stimulated…They say she young, I shoulda waited / She a big girl, dog, when she stimulated.” Tyga then repeats the phrase “she a big girl, dog,” followed by the line “F–k what they talkin’ about, I do what the f–k I wanna do.”

A few days after the video premiered, Kylie posted an epic “Netflix and chill” snapchat story with Tyga and her two dogs, Norman and Bambi.

Was that another confirmation? Mind blown!

Bruce Jenner Introduces Caitlyn

Many saw the interview Diane Sawyer had with former Olympian Bruce Jenner in April about his journey to become a transgender woman on ABC’s 20/20. He shared his story, struggles, concerns and excitement with his transitioning process.

Shortly after Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy announcement in Vanity Fair’s July 2015 issue with Buzz Bissinger called “Call Me Caitlyn,” Jenner introduces herself to the world as Caitlyn Jenner. After coming out in Vanity Fair, Jenner has received the “Arthur Ashe Courage Award” at the ESPYs, which was her very first major public appearance, the “Teen Choice Award for Choice Social Media Queen” and debuted a “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” special called, “About Bruce” and his own reality TV show called, “I Am Cait.”
