Five Must- Have Cool Apps To Enhance Student Life

iphone

Being that nearly everyone has a smartphone or a laptop on their person, it’s easy to get distracted and forget about everything, but there is a way to use these devices to your advantage. So, here are five apps that will save your life this semester.

  1. The Weather Channel by The Weather Channel: Here in the Northeast the weather can change pretty rapidly and you’re going to want to be prepared. This app will help you get used to the sometimes erratic weather patterns of New York City so you’re not caught outside when there’s a severe weather alert in affect. You can add several cities into your favorites as well to keep up with the weather back home.
  2. Fitbit by Fitbit, Inc.: Starting college can easily shake your life up, especially if you’ve just moved in, so it’s important to make sure you’re staying healthy. Fitbit makes it easy to keep track of your steps, calories eaten and burned and your exercise patterns. You can also log in how much water you’re drinking and how much you sleep. The app keeps track of your progress so it is easy for you to figure out how to better your health.
  3. Selfcontrol from selfcontrolapp.com: For all of the procrastinators out there, this app helps you stay focused on that essay you decided to write the day before it’s due.  All you do is add sites that usually serve as your distractions to your blacklist, set a time limit, and then hit start. Then you will not be able to access any of those sites until the time is up.  Unfortunately, it is only available for Macs.
  4. Rite Aid by Rite Aid Hdqts. Corp.: There are two Rite Aid locations close to the school for whenever you run out of something important. The app allows you to shop online, see any deals that are currently going on, and keep track of your wellness+ card. It also helps you to keep track of any prescriptions you need.
  5. Seamless by Seamless North America LLC: For those days you don’t want to leave your bed, there is Seamless. Simply put in your address and it’ll give you a large variety of places that will deliver. Just order right there on the app and you’ll be all set.
