St. John’s head women’s basketball coach Kim Barnes Arico announced the hiring of Joe Tartamella as assistant coach Monday. Tartamella is no stranger to the program as he served as a graduate assistant coach during the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons while working toward his master’s degree in marketing management.
“As a graduate assistant, Joe demonstrated the kind of character, work ethic and commitment to excellence that we would like to instill in our players at St. John’s,” Barnes Arico said. “It was great that we had the opportunity to bring Joe back full-time as a member of our staff.”
With five years of Division I experience and three years of coaching experience under his belt, Tartamella hopes to help coach the St. John’s women’s basketball team to another successful season.
