Men’s golf ahead after first day of the Tillinghast
The St. John’s men’s golf team is on par to take its second NCAA win of the season. In the first round of the Tillinghast Monday afternoon, the Red Storm finished with the low score of 267, four strokes under second place Villanova.
St. John’s had two men in the top four. Sophomore transfer George Zolotas leads all scorers shooting one-over par 71 for the round.
Fellow sophomore Keegan Bradley secured fourth with a 73.
Junior Joe Yastrub, who is competing individually, came in tied for 10th with teammate Kevin Velardo. The pair finished with 76 strokes a piece.
Earlier in the season, the Red Storm hosted the McLaughlin where it tabbed it first win of the season.
The team looks to finish off its home events on a winning note in day two on Tuesday.
