St. John’s golf in the midst of Tournament

Playing in the Big East Championship, men’s and women’s golf is thus far in sixth and seventh place, respectively.

Men’s golf carded a total of 589 for the day, which was 13 over par.

They carded a 301 in the first round and managed to follow that up with a 288 in the second round.

Sophomore Keegan Bradley led St. John’s, carding a 71 in the first round and a three-under par 69 in the second round. He finished with a 140.

Bradley is in third place overall amongst the 60 golfers competing.

Brian McArdle is in a tie for 14th place, carding a one-over par 145. Kevin Velardo recorded a five-over par 149 in his first postseason action.

Rounding out the men’s team were Casey Calmi and George Zolotas, carding a 155 and 157, respectively.

Louisville and Notre Dame are currently tied for first while Marquette is in third.

Women’s Tennis

Women’s tennis has placed seventh in the first day of tournament. Senior Maggie Steciuk led the Storm with a 12-over par 156. She is tied for 15th place overall.

Christin Thompson carded a 157 and Brittany Lambertson was one stroke off her pace, carding a 158.

Rounding the squad out was Katie Lebel and Jaclyn Sanders, carding a 169 and 174, respectively.

Louisville currently leads in the tournament. Georgetown University is in second while South Florida and Notre Dame are in a tie for third place.
