Carnesecca Arena was the site for the ninth straight win and 18th overall for the Red Storm volleyball team Friday night. They faced off against Louisville, the favorite to win the regular season title amongst fans at BigEast.org.
Led by Hardimon, the Storm defeated the Cardinals 3-0 (30-28, 31-33, 30-26). Hardimon notched up her 6th double-double of the season with a match-high 18 kills and 10 digs, along with a career best six service aces.
Hui Ping Huang efforts also helped lead to a St. John’s victory. The sophomore contributed with her 10th career double-double with 13 kills and 12 digs in the upset. Latoya Blunt added 10 kills as did senior Caitlin Rimgaila.
Leszczynska handed out a match-high 44 assists and scooped a match-high 16 digs.
With the win they remain unbeaten at home, and in first place in the overall standings. In the 19 matches St. John’s has played, they have lost only 10 games out of a possible 57.
