These last six months have held a lot of change, both for our nation and for our humanity.

The attacks on Sept. 11th caused America to reevaluate its homeland safety and security. Immediately after the attacks, our government was faced with not only having to help our nation heal, but also deal with the new threat of anthrax. Airports, under strict scrutiny, have since taken the necessary precautions to restore our faith in their services.

Our government has also undergone many changes. New laws, which threaten to expose our privacy, have been instated. More importantly, we are at war, and many of our soldiers have died in an attempt restore our peace.

Most notably, however, is not the change s of our environment, but of our people. Patriotism, understanding, patience, and love have been reemphasized in our daily lives. We’ ve continued to pay respect to those lost, and on the six month anniversary of an attack meant to divide our nation, now is the time we need to stand together, united.

We, at the Torch, hold the memories of friends, family, alumni, NYPD, FDNY and PAPD who were lost in our thoughts and prayers everyday. God Bless you all…
